Welcome to LEAF Academy
We are an international boarding high school located in Bratislava, Slovakia, offering both 4-year and 2-year programs.
Our mission is to provide a world-class education for active students aged 14 to 19 from the Central European region and beyond, regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds.
Come and meet us in person. Please, register for an Open Day visit 24. 2. 2018.
What do we teach and how?
Our unique curriculum intertwines rigorous academic practises through the courses, which prepare students for the AP International Diploma or AP Capstone Diploma with the LEAF Academy courses dedicated to the development of leadership, values, and character.
All parts of the curriculum are brought together through the element of practise: students experience practical real-world applications of what they are learning through cooperation on real-life projects with our business and NGO partners.
Entrepreneurial Leadership Program
Combining working on real problems with experiential learning, case studies, or simulations, EL will help you learn how to spot problems, turn them into opportunities, and start a project or build a business around them. You will not pretend to be an entrepreneur; you will become one!
Character Development Program
Character Development underlies all academic and extracurricular pursuits at LEAF Academy. Students will work closely with a number of adults including their teachers, advisors, residential staffulty (staff and teachers) and coaches, all of whom will help them move through a process of self-discovery.
STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics)
Critical thinking, problem solving, and inquiry are all essential components of our interdisciplinary and problem-based STEM program. For example our Mathematics courses provide tools and skills for students to analyze, model, and understand the world in which we live.
Central European Studies (CES)
The Central European Studies program is a multidisciplinary program that challenges students to contemplate the development and definition of, and a connection to, the idea of Central Europe. Critical thinking, creativity, and the ability to communicate your thoughts articulately are essential skills for any future career path.
Become a part of our community
We are a boarding school because we believe living and learning together with students from diverse backgrounds, different countries, and various cultures creates innumerable opportunities to grow. Students are guided along the way by staffulty (staff and teachers) who ensure that the time outside of the classroom is fun, safe and continues to promote self-development.
The community is: people bringing food to you when you’re sick, carrying your backpack when you cannot walk anymore during the hike, or leaving their schoolwork to talk to you in the middle of the night when you’re struggling. There are things that don’t work out, but in the end, we are a family. Not bound by blood but by our experiences.

Can I afford to study here?
Everybody can afford to study at LEAF Academy! We want to make LEAF Academy accessible to talented students regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds. We have an extensive scholarship program and economically disadvantaged families are eligible for scholarships for up to 98% of the total fees.
LEAF Academy practices a need-blind admission which means that a candidate’s ability to pay the school fee does NOT play a part in the admission decision.
What matters is your application and simply – you.
